TRAGIC: Herrin House of Hope volunteer dies after vehicle crashes into building

HERRIN - A volunteer at the Herrin House of Hope was tragically killed following a vehicle accident today in Herrin.

Police responded to the scene this morning around 11 a.m. after a vehicle had crashed into the building. According to police, one cook inside the building was taken to the hospital and discharged with minor injuries.

Jeffrey Gee, a volunteer who was in the building at the time, suffered major injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

No further information regarding the driver or details regarding the crash was immediately available.
