Suspect, victim dead in Carterville shooting

JUST IN: Police have identified the suspect and victim in this morning's Carterville shooting. WCSO says 36-year-old Robert W. Aumiller of Harrisburg, Illinois shot his wife, identified as 32-year-old Michelle L. Aumiller of Harrisburg, Illinois near Integrated Health in Carterville. Robert and Michelle were married but estranged at the time of the incident. Robert Aumiller's vehicle was located in a field near the intersection of Cardinal Lane and Cypress Drive in Cambria, Illinois. The vehicle was surrounded by law enforcement where Robert Aumiller was discovered to be deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The injured female was transported to Carbondale Hospital by Carterville Fire and EMS where she was later pronounced deceased.

UPDATE: Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Diederich says both the suspect and victim are dead in this morning's shooting. Police were first called to the scene at Integrated Health this morning where one victim, reported as the suspects wife, was found shot and later passed away at a local hospital. The suspect was later found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside his vehicle in a rural area. No further updates are available as the investigation is continuing at this time.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY - The suspect involved in this morning's shooting in Carterville has been located.
Carterville Police, Fire and EMS first responded to a report of shots fired at Integrated Health, located at 310 West Plaza Drive in Carterville.
Upon arrival, one person sustained gunshot wounds and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Police say the attack was not a random act of violence, but was domestic in nature and targeted to one person.
The suspect has been located and no further risk remains to the public. John A. Logan College, Carterville Schools, and Marion Schools were on lockdown for a short time.
Those lockdowns have been lifted.
