FRANKLIN COUNTY - One of the region's biggest drivers of economic revenue will be remaining in Southern Illinois through 2024.

The S3DA National Archery Tournament was held for the first time at Rend Lake this Summer. The four-day tournament attracted over 4,000 people to Rend Lake in 2022.

The Rend Lake / Benton Area Tourism Councils have now officially signed off to bring the tournament back to Rend Lake for 2023 and 2024.

Executive Director Rick Linton says that over half a million dollars in economic revenue is generated from the event, and the council is working on making Rend Lake a permanent home for the tournament for as long as possible.
