Man in critical condition following Herrin shooting investigation

HERRIN - A man is in critical condition following a shooting investigation this morning in the city of Herrin.
According to police, they first received a 911 call in reference to a Domestic Battery around 12:18 a.m. this morning with a shot fired in the 1300 block of W. Monroe St.
One male on the scene was later transported to the Carbondale Hospital in critical condition.
According to police, a female suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm. The suspect is currently being held at the Williamson County Jail pending further investigation of the incident.
