Man arrested on multiple charges following high-speed chase in Williamson, Franklin County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY - A Bush, Illinois man has been arrested after leading deputies in a high-speed police chase last night throughout Williamson and Franklin County.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, it all began around 11:37 p.m. last night when an officer attempted to stop a vehicle in Herrin.
During the pursuit deputies observed a female occupant attempting to escape the vehicle and being held against her will.
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Eric L. Holland of Bush, Illinois, was apprehended following a vehicle and foot pursuit.
Holland was taken into custody on four outstanding warrants and subsequently charged with felony unlawful restraint and aggravated fleeing and eluding.
He was also charged with multiple traffic violations, reckless driving, operating uninsured motor vehicle, resisting/obstructing a peace officer, criminal damage to state supported property, and driving while license suspended. Additional charges are pending.
