WILLIAMSON COUNTY - Saline River Farms, LLC has announced the planned construction of a new USDA processing facility in southern Williamson County.

The 83,000 square foot facility will be located at 9032 Route 166, Creal Springs, IL. Williamson County was competing with a different location in Kentucky for the project as part of the USDA's efforts to increase capacity and diversify processing facilities across the United States.

"We have received tremendous support from the cities of Marion, Herrin, and Creal Springs and have worked tirelessly with congressman Mike Bost, Sen. Dale Fowler, Governor J.B. Pritzker's office, Williamson County Board Chairman Jim Marlo, and other elected officials to bring these career jobs to Southern Illinois," said Ted Hampson, a spokesman for Saline River Farms, LLC.

Saline River Farms, LLC will be investing over $87 million into the local agriculture economy over the next year with around 40,320,000 pounds of beef and 19,152,000 pounds of pork being processed each year.
