WILLIAMSON COUNTY - A Registered Nurse with the Marion VA Healthcare System has passed away following a battle with COVID-19.

Tracey Martin-Trone, an RN with the Marion VA Medical Center, recently passed away, according to a statement from the hospital.

Martin-Trone joined the Marion VA in July 2002, where she played key roles in the implementation of the Clinical Information System, TeleICU, and the Anesthesia Record Keeping (ARK) software.

"She was an expert in simulation scenarios and was always willing to help others. Her love for Veterans was unmatched, she even served as a chaperone on a Veteran Honor Flight, which was a huge deal for her," read a statement from the VA.

"Even in passing, she is still saving lives due to being an organ donor. Our condolences go out to her family and friends," the statement continued.

Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.
