ZEIGLER - A Franklin County police department is looking to decrease criminal activity in town with a new community crime watch.

"It is long over due to start a crime watch, I would love to see our good people out walking the alleys talking to people, asking what people are doing when you see suspicious activity, confronting them with questions and letting people know that the criminal element will not have a comfortable place in our community," said Zeigler Police Chief Ben Burkhamer.

Anyone interested in starting a crime watch is encouraged to attend a council meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 8th at 6:00 p.m.
