WILLIAMSON COUNTY - The Illinois Department of Transportation is inviting the public to learn more and comment about a new proposed roundabout at the intersection of Illinois 148 and Old Illinois 13 west of Marion.

The proposed roundabout will include impacts to Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge located in both the southeast and southwest corners of the intersection.

IDOT will share details of the project and encourage public participation from June 27 through July 15 through a new website.

The public can view aerial photography with proposed alignment alternatives, proposed typical sections, a safety overview, and submit comments.

All comments received by July 15 will become part of the official public meeting record. Written comments not submitted electronically should be sent to:
