Fallen Wayne County deputy laid to rest

FAIRFIELD, ILLINOIS - Fallen Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy Sean Riley was laid to rest on Tuesday afternoon.

Memorial services took place today at the Fairfield Community High School, and Deputy Riley was laid to rest in Cinse, Illinois.

Hundreds of people lined a processional route to pay their final respects to Deputy Riley following the funeral. 

Hundreds of law enforcement agencies from several different states attended the funeral. A candlelight service was held this evening at the Fairfield Memorial Hospital to honor the fallen deputy.

Riley was shot and killed last week after responding to a motorist assist on Interstate 64. The suspect in that case, 40-year-old Ray Tate, has been arrested and charged with first degree murder.
